چکیده

Information-driven networks include a large category of net-working systems, where network nodes are aware of infor-mation delivered and thus can not only forward data packetsbut may also perform information processing. In many sit-uations, the quality of service (QoS) in information-drivennetworks is provisioned with the redundancy in information.Traditional performance models generally adopt evaluationmeasures suitable for packet-oriented service guarantee, suchas packet delay, throughput, and packet loss rate. These per-formance measures, however, do not align well with the ac-tual need of information-driven networks. New performancemeasures and models for information-driven networks, de-spite their importance, have been mainly blank, largely be-cause information processing is clearly application depen-dent and cannot be easily captured within a generic frame-work. To fill the vacancy, we present a new performanceevaluation framework particularly tailored for information-driven networks, based on the recent development of stochas-tic network calculus. We analyze the QoS with respect toinformation delivery and study the scheduling problem withthe new performance metrics. Our analytical framework canbe used to calculate the network capacity in information de-livery and in the meantime to help transmission schedulingfor a large body of systems where QoS is stochastically guar-anteed with the redundancy in information.

Modeling of Texture and Color Froth Characteristics for Evaluation of Flotation Performance in Sarcheshmeh Copper Pilot Plant, Using Image Analysis and Neural Networks

Texture and color appearance of froth is a discreet qualitative tool for evaluating the performance of flotation process. The structure of a froth developed on the flotation cell has a significant effect on the grade and recovery of copper concentrate. In this work, image analysis and neural networks have been implemented to model and control the performance of such a system. The result reveals...

Comparison and evaluation of the performance of data-driven models for estimating suspended sediment downstream of Doroodzan Dam

Dams control most of the sediment entering the reservoir by creating static environments. However, sediment leaving the dam depends on various factors such as dam management method, inlet sediment, water height in the reservoir, the shape of the reservoir, and discharge flow. In this research, the amount of suspended sediment of Doroodzan Dam based on a statistical period of 25 years has been i...

Improving Data-based Wind Turbine Using Measured Data Foggy Method

The purpose of this paper is to improve the modeling of the data-driven wind turbine system that receives data from noise signals. Most of the data on industrial systems is noisely and data noise is inevitable and natural. The method and idea proposed in this paper, Data Fogging, significantly reduce the impact of noise on data-driven wind turbine system modeling, which is the basis of this met...

A Multiband Multiple-input Multiple-output Antenna System for Long Term Evolution and Wireless Local Area Networks Handsets

A novel multiband multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna system is proposed. The MIMO antenna system consists of two antenna elements, each of which comprises of three radiators: a driven monopole, an S-shaped strip and an inverted F-shaped strip and occupies footprint of 15x18.5x0.8 mm3 only. The driven monopole acts as a quarter-wave monopole and stimulate higher mode resonance. The tw...

Modeling and Performance Evaluation of Energy Consumption in S-MAC Protocol Using Generalized Stochastic Petri Nets

One of the features of wireless sensor networks is that the nodes in this network have limited power sources. Therefore, assessment of energy consumption in these networks is very important. What has been common practice has been the use of traditional simulators to evaluate the energy consumption of the nodes in these networks. Simulators often have problems such as fluctuating output values i...
